NBA News: Dallas Mavericks obviously commit ex-knicks
Dallas Mavericks are apparently shortly before the commitment of Frank Ntikina. The No. 8-Pick of the Draft 2017 should give the MAVs more depth in the backcourt.
This reports Marc Stein ( Substack ). Thus, Dallas was the probable next destination of the Point Guard, whose contract was delivered to the New York Knicks in the summer and not extended.
Dallas had already had an eye on the French in the draft 2017, but the knicks grabbed at position. The MAVs chose Dennis Smith Jr. with the ninth pick. The latter was released in the trade for Kristaps Porzingis after only one and a half years, but could not prevail in New York.
The same applies, however, for Ntikina. Although he is considered a talented defender, but the hoped-for development was offensive. Last season, in 33 missions, he came to just under 10 minutes of use time, in which he raised 2.7 points at 36.7 percent from the field. His career cut after four years at the Knicks is 5.5 points at 36.6 percent field thread quota and 32.8 percent from the distance (including 2.7 assists and 2.0 rebounds).
