NBA News: Jimmy Butler signs new mega contract at the Miami Hea
Jimmy Butler has prescribed the Miami Heat in the long term. The Forward has officially approved a contract extension until 2026. The 31-year-old came to Miami in 2019 and renounced his players' option for the 2022/23 season to extend his contract prematurely. Butler remains for a maximum of 184 million dollars over four years to 2026, holding a player option for the last year. "Jimmy is beside Bam [Adebayo] the anchor and the face of our franchise," Team President Pat Riley explained the decision of the Heat. "With Jimmy, we have an all-NBA and an all-defense player, which is scratch-beard and otherwise simply completely. He deserves this contract because he became one of the best players of the league." Nevertheless, the extension came a bit surprising, because Butler then almost 37 years old when his contract expires.
